Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens

It took 16 years to plan and build these Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor. And it takes a full day to explore all the beautiful plant life, walking trails and art sculptures that comprise the 250 acres of gardens and grounds. The Botanical Gardens of Maine offer everything from manicured formal gardens, waterfalls and spectacular stonework, to rambling paths down to a mile of waterfront under a natural tree canopy. Plant lovers and botanists will enjoy identifying thousands of species of herbs, flowers and plants, while children will love the hands on experience that the new Children’s’ Gardens offer.

The Botanical Gardens are open year round, with no charge for admission in winter, and reasonable admission fees in summer months. There is a Welcome Center, a Gift Shop and a Café so you can spend the day and enjoy a picnic in the splendid surroundings, perhaps in the butterfly gardens or the meditation gardens.

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens offers lectures and education talks throughout the year, as well as guided tours of the beautiful property. Special events include wine tastings held in the gardens. You can even book your wedding ceremony and reception at the Botanical Gardens.
