Northeast Harbor is a favorite spot for sailors and pleasure boaters due to the natural protection, scenic beauty and the many boat builders located here. This quaint village has a few quaint shops and local restaurants as well as paths that allows visitors to take in the natural beauty of the area. When vacationing in Northeast Harbor, you will will surely tour Acadia National Park and make a visit to Bar Harbor and nearby Southwest Harbor. Returning to Northeast Harbor though is a treat, this picturesque harbor is quaint and quiet. Located to the west of Somes Sound, exploring by boat or kayak is a wonderful way to see North America's only fjord. From Northeast Harbor, you can also take a scenic boat tour with the Beal and Bunker Mailboat Ferry to Cranberry Island and Little Cranberry Island (where guests can have lunch) and Sutton Island.
