Maine Lighthouses – With over 65 picturesque lighthouses for travelers to see, there is something the whole family will enjoy in Maine! A visit to one of these iconic Maine landmarks is highly recommended.

Cape Neddick Nubble Light – Cape Neddick Lighthouse has become more commonly known as Nubble Light, due to its location on the summit of Cape Neddick Bubble, a small offshore rocky isle in York. Because of its rocky offshore location just off shore, the lighthouse grounds are inaccessible to visitors, but its location near York Beach make it a beautiful and photogenic landmark for tourists. Nubble Light is also known for its unique red light, which still shines today. A visit during the holiday you will find the Lighting of the Nubble, the lighthouse is beautiful in sparkling white lights.

Old York’s Gaol – Built in 1719, it is part of The Museums of Old York 1656 living history village. Visit the jail, schoolhouse, tavern, store and wharf for a taste of 18th century living in colonial Maine. More on York

Portland Head Light offers visitors a beautiful location for picnics, hiking, relaxing in the park, or visiting the museum built in the former lighthouse Keeper’s quarters. Offering views of beautiful Portland Harbor, the white fieldstone and brick conical tower stands 101 feet above sea level.

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens – Located in Boothbay, the botanical gardens feature 250 acres of flowering beauty in dramatically landscaped gardens, rockwork, waterfalls and walking paths. This famed landmark in Maine by itself will sway anyone to vacation in Boothbay Harbor.

Coastal Boat Rides – Maine’s 5,500-mile coast is best viewed from the water. Enjoy a boat ride, a scenic boat cruise from Kennebunkport, Ogunquit or Casco Bay Ferry, a lobster and lighthouse tour, a sunset cruise on a schooner or a whale watch. Maine charter boat tours will take visitors on an expedition to view famous landmarks in Maine’s coastal region.

Pemaquid Point Lighthouse – near the end of Pemaquid Point on the rocky coast of Maine is a spectacular site, and Pemaquid Light, not to be missed.

Cadillac Mountain – Located on Mount Desert Island, Cadillac Mountain is part of Acadia National Park’s 35,000 acres. This is a spectacular place to view the sunrise and first light of day. Biking and and hiking this mountain is among the many fun things to do in Acadia National Park.

Oh my Gosh Corner – On the ride to Sugarloaf Mountain, in Carrabassett Valley, Maine’s largest single ski mountain appears dramatically as you approach eager with alpine anticipation.
