Coastal Maine Lodging
What many travelers or even locals may not realize is that Maine's coastline is longer than California's. Certainly then, with all the crevices and crooks of rocky shores, and meandering beaches, there is much to explore on the Maine coast
Maine's coast is known for its lighthouses bound on rocky, wave beaten cliffs. Only 2% of Maine's coastline is soft sandy beaches - with most of the expansive beaches along the Southern Maine coast. Many vacationers seek coastal lodgings in Maine in part to engage in the friendly, "small-town" culture, but largely to appreciate the captivating beauty of the coast and to crack into a Maine lobster.
