Jackman upholds its tagline, “The Switzerland of Maine” having longer snowy winters, amazingly beautiful summers and stunning fall foliage.

Situated on a mountainous region along the Old Scenic Byway, Jackman is one of the last stops before crossing the border into Canada. The Kennebec and Moose River Valley flow from here.  In Jackman, you are more like to  spot moose and wildlife than nightlife. Jackman is a popular area to find ATV trails, fishing and boating in summer, hunting and moose safaris in fall, to Nordoc skiing or snowshoeing and snowmobiling in winter.

Jackman offers a variations of lodgings options from being pampered at a bed and breakfasthotels with continental breakfast, or even wilderness camping in classic Maine camp style hunting lodges or a cabin on the lake. You can even stay in a classic Maine lodge with stunning views of the Moose River valley, and host an entire wedding, meeting or event in this casual, remote, magical setting.
