At over 325 acres, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is New England’s largest botanical garden. Home to thousands of different types of plants and visited by hundreds of thousands of guests each year, the Gardens is an inclusive place of learning, beauty, and whimsy around every corner. The mission of the Gardens is to inspire meaningful connections among people, plants, and nature through horticulture, education, and research.

The Gardens offer everything from manicured formal gardens with native plant collections, waterfalls, and spectacular stonework, to rambling paths down to a mile of waterfront under a natural tree canopy.

Plant lovers and botanists will enjoy identifying thousands of species of herbs, flowers, and plants, while children will love the hands-on experience of the Children’s Garden.

The Gardens are open May 1 – October 20 for the regular season and back open just before Thanksgiving for their annual Gardens Aglow light show.

There is a Visitor’s Center, Gardenshop and a Cafe so you can spend the day and enjoy a picnic in the splendid surroundings, perhaps in the butterfly gardens or the meditation gardens.

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens offers lectures and education talks throughout the season, as well as free walking tours of the beautiful property.
