Gardens Aglow is a seasonal outdoor walking event, typically running from mid-November to the end of December, sometimes into January. It’s the only opportunity to experience the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens during winter.

The Gardens Aglow route is approximately 1 mile of beautifully lighted pathways, and most guests spend between 1.5 to 2 hours at the event, viewing the light displays and taking photos by the glowing lights. In addition, you may want to allocate additional time for concessions.

The event includes new walking routes, paths, and nature-inspired sculptures. Notable features include characters like Wade the Moose and the Guardians of the Seeds trolls, Roskva and Lilja.

The 2025 Gardens Aglow event opens on November 15 and runs through January 3. Admission times range from between 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday through Sunday, and the event closes each night at 9 p.m.

Now in its 11th season, Gardens Aglow offers guests an immersive experience with illuminated trails, nature-inspired sculptures, themed areas, and a variety of light effects.

Ticket Availability and Policy

Tickets are only available online or over the phone at 207-633-8000, and attendance is capped to prevent overcrowding. The date and time selected at purchase are final, with no refunds for unused tickets.

Early bird ticket prices are offered until November 26 – $19 for adults, $10 for children, and $17 for seniors and veterans. After that, ticket prices are $23 for adults, $13 for children, and $20 for seniors and veterans, although a 20% discount is available for members.

Groups of 10 or more receive a special rate, and arrangements for large vehicles like tour buses should be made in advance.

Parking and Transportation

On-site parking is free but limited. To ease congestion, visitors are encouraged to carpool or use the shuttle service.
